Those struggling in our communities need our support. Access to mental health, family violence services and better support networks are essential for strong and united communities. I have spent years working with services helping those suffering from family violence, poor mental health, and drug and alcohol issues, and I know how important support services are. We need to ensure that our towns have access to the support services they need, when they need, and at a price they can afford.
Health and Ageing.
We need the same access to health services in the Bush as in Melbourne. I will:
- Work with the state government to come up with a regional mental health plan.
- Support an age-friendly approach to our communities and aged care services that allow people to age in place, staying connected and a part of their communities
- Prioritise and fight for regional telehealth initiatives. Telehealth could revolutionise the way regional people access healthcare, and as a regional electorate with a big future this is an initiative we should be leading.
- Work to bring GP’s and primary health workers to live and work in our region.
