I’ve decided to run because I need to take our fight to Spring Street. It took ten years to get the funding that the Beechworth Secondary College needed, our local dairy processing jobs are being taken from our communities, and so is our water.
As an independent candidate I’ll be standing up for Benambra.
We need funding for our rural roads and affordable housing. We need a regional deal that will make Wodonga a regional business, education and employment hub.
Protecting our Water
The Stanley community needs action. As the Mayor of Indigo Shire Council I have fought to try and stop outsiders from shipping out their water. We need to change the Water Act so that rural communities get a say in who gets access to their water. Ground water should be for our farmers and families, not the bottled water industry.

Standing up for Dairy Jobs
We need to keep agricultural and manufacturing jobs in our region. As Mayor of the Indigo Shire Council I fought off a move to take 150 jobs out of Kiewa/Tangambalanga, helping to keep the factory open, and keep 60 of those dairy processing jobs in our region. Securing the future of that plant and Benambra’s dairy industry is one of my top priorities. We have some of the best dairy valleys, and dairy farmers, in Victoria and we need to make sure their future is protected.
